    Pointer A: Wear the proper gear, specifically one that comfortable.



    It is very important that you wear the right gear, specifically comfortable running shoes, and shirt and shorts made of cotton (cotton is a comfortable and cool material) not only when youe running in a race, but, also when youe training to become a marathon runner. Just imagine: if you wear shoes that hurt you, or shoes that are not of good quality, it will surely affect your performance negatively. When you join the marathon and you wear clothes made of materials that are hot, itchy, in other words, uncomfortable, during your practices or during the actual event, for sure, youl finish the marathon last, or worse, not even be able to reach the end.

    One of the techniques of marathon training for beginners is to actually have 2? 3 pairs of good running shoes, so that you can use them interchangeably during practices and drills, so that by the time you participate in the actual race, your feet are used to the shoes, and that can really help in attaining your goal to win the race.


    Besides, if you have more than one pair of shoes, the occurrence of wear and tear is minimized.

    Pointer B: Run at least 30 minutes during training.

    Anyone who wishes to become a marathon runner should spend enough time during running practice or training. Before you join the marathon, you should see to it that you can take the time to train for at least half an hour during your training schedules. Take note that those 30 minutes should be non stop running, or continuous training, so that your body can get used to the running impact, experience, etc. Each and every program for marathon training for beginners will require you to train or run for a minimum of 30 minutes, thus, if you can survive that challenge, you may have to accept that youe not meant to be a runner.

    Pointer C: Increase your mileage slowly.

    Some people think that to win the race, they have to rush on increasing or building up their running mileage. The truth, however, is that it is best that you up the mileage little by little so as to prevent injuries. You have to increase your endurance and strength slowly, and also stick to the rule of 10%, in terms of mileage increase.
